EastEnders star Shona McGarty says Whitney Dean deserves a 'happy ending'

It was revealed last month that Shona would be leaving Albert Square and Whitney behind as rumours swirl about what she will do next.
It's believed that her final scenes on EastEnders will air next year when her contract runs out, with producers currently deliberating her exit storyline.Despite being a fan-favourite character since she stepped into the role of Whitney in 2008, Shona has been involved some heart-wrenching storylines across her years in the soap.
Speaking to Inside Soap magazine for its EastEnders feature for the Inside Soap Awards, Shona said: "As a viewer, and after playing her for so long, Whitney deserves a happy ending.
