Dumfries and Galloway crews gear up for new Scottish Rally Championship season

The Motorsport UK KNC Groundworks Scottish Rally Championship blasts into action on Saturday.The seven-round series kicks off with the Coogie Urquhart Snowman Rally, based in Inverness.And first off the start ramp will be the Subaru Impreza of Castle Douglas ace Jock Armstrong.

He will be accompanied by co-driver Cameron Fair and is looking for a third Scottish crown to add to the titles he won in 2015 and 2016.Also making the long trip north is Dumfries’ Mark McCulloch, who is competing in a Ford Escort Mk2 with Michael Hendry.

Dalbeattie’s Iain Wilson won the two-wheel drive championship last year and is looking for similar success in his Escort, navigated by Chris Williams.There are also three Dumfries and Galloway crews competing in MG
