The council has stepped in to provide more than £2 million to support vulnerable people and communities impacted by the coronavirus.At the first Covid-19 sub-committee meeting on Friday members agreed a string of measures to alleviate financial pressure on people.Those included the go-ahead to use £1.5 million of Scottish Government funding towards housing and homelessness, food, access to the internet or smartphones and general support and advice.Council leader Elaine Murray said: “We have acted immediately to allocate our share of Scottish Government funding so that we can meet pressures and help those experiencing hardship.“We are also allocating the majority of our council’s 20/21 tackling poverty fund to ensure that we are not only
