Police have shared footage of a high speed chase leading to arrests from Ashton earlier this month. Officers were on patrol in the early hours of January 3 after spotting two 'suspicious' vehicles travelling along Newmarket Road in Ashton.

One of these vehicles had been stolen in a burglary not long before being spotted by officers, with the other having been used in a burglary the night before, police said. A pursuit began to Thirlmere Avenue, Ashton, where four teenagers abandoned the car and tried to escape on foot. This chase went through various streets, gardens and football fields, before the four were caught.

In the video from an officer's body cam, police can be heard describing chasing the teens at over 70mph and warning them that police dogs and a taser could be used against them.
