Dom Manfredi has retired from rugby league after being forced to end his career on medical advice. The Wigan Warriors winger, aged just 27, has been advised to call time on his career after another knee injury.

Manfredi, a Grand Final winner with the Warriors, has been hampered by injuries throughout his career, especially to his knee.

Now, after suffering another injury setback to the same knee, he has made the decision to bring a premature end to his career.

Manfredi has endured three knee reconstructions in five years, with two ACL injuries to his left knee and one to his right. He will see out the remainder of his contract before retiring at the end of the season.
