The hit Channel 4 series, Derry Girls, will be coming to an end after the third season, creator Lisa McGee has confirmed. The Irish comedy series following a group of young Northern Irish teens growing up in The Troubles has received high critical praise since its release, becoming Channel 4’s most successful comedy series since Father Ted. “It was always the plan to say goodbye after three series,” said the series creator in a statement. “Derry Girls is a love letter to the place I come from and the people who shaped me. “It has been an honour to write it and I will be forever proud of everything it’s achieved.
