A care home in New Mills, Derbyshire has been applauded for stepping up its operations. Tarry Hill on Cale Road has recently been inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), which governs and regulates the care sector, and following the inspection has achieved a CQC rating of 'Good'.

Tarry Hill has been working tirelessly to ensure that it moved from its previous rating of ‘Requires Improvement' to that of ‘Good’, with the organisation investing heavily in property, training, and individual resources such as the appointment of an experienced registered manager.

In April, the care home won the award for 'Most Improved Team' at the first awards ceremony hosted by the East Midlands Patient Safety Collaborative.

Stephanie Turner, manager of Tarry Hill Care Home, was announced as the main winner for helping her staff go from strength to strength, making positive risk assessments and boosting team confidence in personalised care plans.
