Death in Paradise star Joséphine Jobert revealed there might have been a version of the show where she did not play detective Florence Cassell.
Jobert has been one of the actors headlining the show, exiting in 2019 when her character took the decision to leave Saint Marie after her latest undercover mission had taken a life-threatening turn, before returning for two more series.
She finally left the island for good earlier this year in the series 11 finale. Speaking on The Table Read podcast, hosted by her former co-star Tahj Miles who plays police officer Marlon Pryce on the BBC show, Jobert opened up about how she landed her role as Florence. Due to her difficulty with the English language, she had initially auditioned for a guest role – one that she unfortunately didn't end up getting.
