Daughter slams care home after being refused defibrillator to help dying mum

A woman has spoken of the heartbreak, anger and shock after she was refused the use of defibrillator by a nursing home for her mother who collapsed nearby and later died in hospital.

Courtney D’abusco has slammed a nursing home and claimed her mother Lian could still be alive if she was granted access to the ‘public defibrillator’.

Lian Scotto D’abusco collapsed in the early hours of April 24 and when on the phone to emergency services Courtney was told to get a defibrillator that was “available 24/7” for public use from a nearby nursing home before the paramedics arrived.

However, the 23-year-old said the Willowbrook House care home would not let her use the life saving device - claiming she was told it was not available to the public.Lian
