Coroner rules that 'neglect' contributed to the tragic death of hospital patient

Managers at a hospital have 'unreservedly apologised' to the family of a patient after it emerged that 'neglect' contributed to his death.

Kelvin Gould, 55, was admitted to the hospital on January 22 following a stroke. However, he developed a pressure sore before he was discharged from Royal Stoke University Hospital to his Newchapel home on February 19, and it then got so severe that he had to be readmitted on March 4.
