Cops have launched a probe after a a WW1 helmet and a model ship were stolen from a Scots home last month. The items were stolen from a property in Forss, Caithness, between Wednesday, August 3, and Saturday, August 6.
Enquiries remain ongoing to trace those responsible and to recover the items which hold significant sentimental value to the owners.
The WW1 helmet saved the life of the man wearing it, when he was shot in the head. The bullet hole can be seen clearly on the helmet.
The ship, with white sails, has the name Catherine inscribed on it and sits within a glass cabinet.Officers are asking the public for any information regarding these items so that they may be returned.Constable Colin MacRae said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have any information regarding this theft.
