Concerns have been raised over the condition of a rural bridge being used as a diversion route for a road closure.Forth and Endrick ward councillor Robert Davies has raised questions over the state of the Blane Smiddy Bridge, on the B834, which is taking the bulk of the traffic diverted from the A809 because of the closure of the Catter Burn Bridge at Croftamie.The independent councillor this week visited the structure and says that a number of faults are visible, including holes in the parapet wall, crumbling stonework and steel tie rods under the bridge showing signs of rust.Additionally, queues of vehicles have been left waiting to cross the single-lane bridge.The councillor’s visit to the structure comes on the same week that an
