Charity rugby match raises £1700 in honour of Scots policeman who lost leg on duty

Dozens gathered at a Lochinch Sports Pavillion for a charity rugby match in honour of injured Scots cop Phil Hedge-Holmes.The fixture saw a clash of the Scottish Police Select team and the Combined Services Barbarians within Pollock Park on Saturday afternoon.Despite the rainy weather, more than 100 people turned out to support both teams which saw the Barbarians come out victorious with a 21-17 win.More than £1700 was raised for the chosen charity Police Care UK who have provided invaluable support to the Hedge-Holmes family.The idea for the match was brought to the table by the injured officer's brother, who plays for the armed forces side.Despite living more than 300 miles away, Andy Hedge-Holmes, 49, worked tirelessly alongside the
