Channel 4 Hollyoaks star quits soap telling bosses it's 'time to move on'

Hollyoaks star Jamie Lomas has reportedly quit the Channel 4 soap in a decision which has left bosses stunned. The actor has played the role of Warren Fox on the Channel 4 soap on and off since 2006.It comes following previous reports a schedule shake-up will see Hollyoaks episodes cut from five episodes a week to three by September, with 135 staff set to lose their jobs.According to reports in OK!, Jamie has made the decision to leave Hollyoaks following the announcement in budget cuts.

The 48-year-old allegedly told bosses that "it’s the right time for him to go" as he's set to leave later this year.A source told The Sun: “Jamie has been at the centre of some of the soap’s biggest storylines and has been back in Hollyoaks now for nearly eight years, which is a long time."They added: “It’s been a long stint which he has loved but with all the changes going on he felt the time was right to move on.

He told bosses last week, and they are already working on his exit storyline."The door will be left open and it is hoped he’ll be back again as Warren Fox on day.”In Jamie's personal life he recently revealed him and his fiancee Jess Bell, 34, are expecting their first child.
