Carole Baskin
Carole Baskin (born June 6, 1961) is an American animal rights activist and owner of Big Cat Rescue, a non-profit animal sanctuary based near Tampa, Florida. Baskin drew public attention when she was featured in the 2020 Netflix documentary series Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness about Oklahoma-based private zoo operator known as Joe Exotic. The Netflix series follows both Baskin and Joe Exotic, filming their ongoing and escalating feuds over exotic animals in private zoos. Following the series' release, Baskin has been targeted by Internet memes related to the disappearance of Don Lewis, her second husband.

Carole Baskin is saying goodbye to Joe Exotic‘s zoo. A year after a judge granted Carole, 60, control of 58-year-old Joe‘s former zoo, she has finally sold it under a few big conditions. Click inside to read more… Carole and husband Howard Baskin sold the property – formerly known as The Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park – for $140,000 back in June, the couple told TMZ.

There is one big stipulation – the new owners are prohibited from using the property “to house exotic animals of any kind — or as a zoo, wildlife park or menagerie” for the next 100 years. Howard also told TMZ that the new owners are barred from “ever being associated with he who shall not be named” aka Joe. Carole then suggested that the land could be used as an RV
