'Brilliant' dad dies days after pub brawl as murder probe launched

A young father described as "one of life’s good guys" has died after being savagely attacked in a street brawl. 32-year-old Alan Barefoot, who just became a father to a little girl born only a few weeks ago, was found with severe head injuries at approximately 9.45pm on October 16.

Witnesses reported a fight had broken out at The Royal Pub in Thirsk, North Yorkshire, which then spilled out on to the street, reports Yorkshire Live.

Emergency services attended the scene and Mr Barefoot was rushed to hospital.He sadly died from his injuries eight days later, on the evening of October 24.The dad from South Kilvington was described as "the best daddy to our newborn daughter" by heartbroken girlfriend Charlotte.In a moving tribute, she said:
