A 14-year-old boy has been arrested as the investigation into the death of 16-year-old Kennie Carter continues. Detectives launched a murder probe after the teenager was stabbed on Thirlmere Avenue in Stretford on January 22.

Kennie, described by his family as a 'cheeky chappy', tragically died in hospital. Since the investigation was launched, GMP's Major Incident Team have spoken to 50 people and collected over 100 hours of CCTV. The latest came last night (Wednesday) as a 14-year-old boy was arrested in connection with Kennie's death. Five murder suspects remain on bail with conditions not to enter the Stretford area and officers are still keen to speak to more people.

In a fresh appeal, police are urging anyone who was driving through the area at the time to check their dash-cam footage. This would be anyone driving through Moss Road, Thirlmere Road, and Victoria Road between 6pm and 7pm on January 22.
