Police issue update on Clowes Park murder investigation

Detectives say they are following a 'number of lines of enquiry' as they continue to investigate the murder of teenage boy found dead in a Salford park.

The body of Alan Szelugowski, 17, was discovered by a dog walker in Clowes Park on Sunday morning. He had suffered a single stab wound.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of murder and later released under investigation. Det Chief Insp Gareth Davies, of GMP’s Major Incident Team, said: "One week in, my team are continuing to gather information from the community to lead us to the person or people responsible for Alan's death so we can bring them to face justice. "We have a number of lines of enquiry but it is essential that members of the public tell us what they know about the circumstances - whether that be directly via phone, our website, the Major Incident Public Portal or anonymously via Crimestoppers." A GoFundMe page has raised more than £1,300 to support Alan's family.
