Another US celebrity entered into the world of English football this week when Tom Brady surprisingly announced he had invested in Birmingham City.
The 46-year-old, who won six Super Bowls with the New England Patriots and one with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, retired from American football earlier this year.
His new role at St Andrew's will be as chair of a new advisory board and in doing so has become a minority owner of the Blues.
Discussing his arrival, Birmingham's new owners Knighthead Capital Management LLC insisted it would be a 'hands-on role'. While Brady will not be on the board of directors, he has invested his money into the club and will be hoping to advise the boardroom on decisions they make.
