Beyoncé's 6-year-old daughter Rumi Carter has broken the world record for the youngest female singer to hit the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

The daughter of music legends Beyoncé and Jay Z managed to land in the Hot 100 after featuring on her mum’s track Protector, from the singer’s newly-released country album Cowboy Carter.

Protector charted at number 42 on the Hot 100, bringing in 11.3 million streams in the U.S. during its first week out. The young star can be heard in the intro of the acoustic ballad saying to Beyoncé: "Mum, can I hear the lullaby please?” In the emotional song, Beyoncé opens up about motherhood and sings about being proud of and protecting her three children, six-year-old twins Rumi and Sir Carter, and 12-year-old daughter Blue.

The 42-year-old songstress sings in the chorus: “And I will lead you down that road if you lose your way / Born to be a protector / Even though I know someday you're gonna shine on your own / I will be your projector.” The previous record for the youngest artist in the charts was held by Rumi’s big sister Blue Ivy.
