The former Coronation Street star emerged victorious on Saturday night (December 16) alongside Vito. Ellie, 22, and Vito, 31, beat off stiff competition from the two other couples, Bobby Brazier and Dianne Buswell, and Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin, who made it to the final, to take the Strictly 2023 title and to lift the coveted Glitterball trophy.
Upon being crowned winner, Ellie was clearly stunned as she covered her mouth with her hand while Vito broke into tears as he realised he won the competition with only his second-ever celebrity partner on the show after joining last year. She then told Vito: "For once, you’re crying more than me," before adding: "This is for you, this is for you." Talking about their win, Vito then said: "I mean this is like the cherry on the cake." He turned to Ellie and added: "You have been so amazing, you are Strictly, you represent Strictly.
You are finally, you know, the diamond I was talking (about)." But amid Ellie and Vito reacting to their win as they spoke to hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, Strictly fans couldn't help but notice the reaction of her family as the cameras panned to them embracing and almost collapsing to the floor.
