Strictly Come Dancing star Giovanni Pernice has gushed over his 'gorgeous night' with his former dance partner following his surprise exit from the BBC One show.

The dancer has been keeping busy and keeping his spirits up after being forced out of the dance competition. Giovanni had to leave the hit dance contest last week after his celebrity dance partner Amanda Abbington confirmed she couldn't continue.

The actress pulled out of one of the live shows due to "medical reasons". But before she and Giovanni were due to return for last weekend's Halloween special, it was announced that Amanda would be leaving the competition due to "personal reasons".

The Sherlock star later said: "It is with deepest regret that I had to leave Strictly. I did not come to this decision easily or lightly but for personal reasons, I am unable to continue."
