Mark Goodier has been a familiar voice on the radio for decades. The 63 year old star presented BBC Radio 1's breakfast show back in 1993, and famously hosted the Top 40 chart countdown each Sunday between 1990 and 1992 and again from 1995 until 2002.
He also regularly presented Top Of The Pops, alongside names like Bruno Brookes, Simon Mayo, Jo Whiley and Steve Wright. Steve sadly died earlier this year at the age of 69, sending shockwaves through the country, with his colleagues openly upset at his sudden passing.
His BBC Radio 2 show PIck Of The Pops has since been presented by stand-in Gary Davies, but this Saturday, 6 July, Mark will take over the iconic slot from 1pm, as the new permanent host, having recently resigned from Greatest Hits Radio after five years.
But Mark was shockingly forced to face up to his own mortality when he when he suffered a stroke at his north London home back in November 2016.
