Ayrshire farm has been granted permission to switch to commercial kennels to breed puppies.Owners of Intax Cottage say they have three to four litters each year with around 20 puppies being produced annually. The farm, owned by Robert Dunlop, sought to change the use of a newly erected building from residential to commercial kennels.Mr Dunlop, whose farm is based between Newmilns and Darvel, said in a supporting statement that due to new breeding regulations from the Scottish Government that are set to come into force this September they needed to change their licence.New rules mean that anyone producing two or more litters per year will need a breeders' license. The Ayrshire Live app is available to download now.Get all the local news in.
