Dental nurse Safiyya and footballer-turned-reality TV star Ashley tragically lost their eight month old daughter Azaylia following a battle with leukaemia in April 2021.
Speaking about the moment Safiyaa found out her ex would be a father again she told The Sun: "He didn’t tell me who she was and, again, I would not ask." Breaking down in tears, she added: "That’s the heartbreaking thing about it.
Even when he told me, I put him first so he didn’t feel guilty for telling me. Inside I was screaming and crying." When the news of Ashley's baby then broke online, Safiyya recalled being sat at a table with Little Mix singer Leigh-Anne Pinnock and sprinter Linford Christie moments before presenting an award.
