Glasgow Caledonian University has renamed one of its most prominent buildings in honour of the legendary Annie Lennox. The Scots singer became Chancellor at the university in 2018 and her name will now proudly adorn the Annie Lennox Building in celebration of the first female to take on the role.
The Eurythmics icon is currently visiting the university over two days, where she is presiding over three graduation ceremonies at the city's nearby Royal Concert Hall and dishing them out to hundreds of students.
The star has undertaken a wide range of work to support the university since she was appointed, including officiating during graduation ceremonies, meeting students on campus to share her experience and wisdom, taking part in discussions including a COP26 online debate, providing a range of supportive video messages of solidarity and encouragement during the global COVID-19 pandemic as well as calls to action to promote gender equality and climate action.
