Work under way on new housing developments in Airdrie and Coatbridge

The work is in addition to plans for 139 new homes at the Dykehead Road site of the three demolished Holehills high-rises, 31 at Northburn Place in Airdrie, and 281 homes at Dunbeth and Shawhead in Coatbridge following future tower block demolitions.Councillors were updated on the programme to build 5000 homes over two decades at a recent meeting of North Lanarkshire’s housing committee – where members were also told that 772 new houses have been completed to date, of which 327 are in the Monklands area.
