Build a tunnel under the Forth to link Edinburgh and Fife, say Green MSPs

The party unveiled the bold proposal today as part of its wider vision for how the country's rail network could be transformed over the next 20 years.It said building an undersea link between the north of Edinburgh and the Fife coast would free up capacity on the transport network by reducing demand on the bridges at Queensferry.The environmentalists have also called for a brand new St Enoch station to be built in Glasgow on the site of the former Victorian terminus, which was shut in the 1960s and later demolished.It would be linked to the existing Argyle Street station and would allow extra trains from Paisley and the south-west of Scotland to reach the city centre.But it is the proposal to build a nine-mile tunnel under the Forth that is.
