Woman dies and another is fighting for life after being struck by a car

manchestereveningnews.co.ukWigan. At around 9.15am today, a white Mini One car was driving along Slag Lane, in Lowton, heading towards Leigh. The car then crashed into two women, aged 70 and 73, who were walking on the pavement.
Both women were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and the 70-year-old woman died a short while later. The 73-year-old was critically injured and remains in a critical condition.
Police are appealing to the public to make contact with them with any information they have about the incident – including eyewitnesses or any dash cam footage.
