Tributes have been paid to a young boy with an "infectious smile" after he tragically passed away. Aaron Higgs, 11, lost his life on Saturday.

It is unclear how Aaron, who was in P7 at East Lothian Loretto Primary School, died. Described as loving football and karate, social media was flooded with messages of support for Aaron's family from the sporting community.

Announcing the news tonight, his club Musselburgh Youngstars club wrote: "It is with an extremely heavy heart that we are announcing the passing of Aaron Higgs from our 2008 team. "Higgsy has been part of the club for a very long time and his infectious smile will be missed greatly."Aaron was in primary seven at Loretto primary school and enjoyed karate as well as football."He
