Woman, 28, found dead in her flat as police also rescue a sick man in the same close

A young woman was found dead in her flat in a feared drugs death shortly before a man in the same close was rushed to hospital.The 28-year-old’s body was discovered at the property in Stock Street, Paisley.Police were alerted around 5.30pm on Monday and confirmed she had passed away.Don't miss the latest headlines from around Renfrewshire.

Sign up to our newsletters here.But just 55 minutes later police raced to another flat in the same Stock Street block of flats in the Charleston area after fears were raised for a man.An ambulance was called and the resident, who is aged 37, was rushed to the Royal Alexandra Hospital.He is still undergoing treatment and police are continuing enquiries into this incident.Currently police are not linking both incidents.A source in the street told the Paisley Daily Express: “We thought the people were found in different closes.“It’s terrible and so sad for the woman, we think it may have been a drugs overdose.“There seems to be a flood of drugs in this area at the moment.”A Police Scotland spokeswoman confirmed the death of the woman is not being treated as suspicious.She said: “Around 5.30pm on Monday police were called to a flat in Stock Street, Paisley, where the body of a 28-year-old woman was found.“There would appear to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”She added: “Around 6.25pm on Monday police responded to a concern for person call at a flat on Stock Street, Paisley.“ A 37-year-old man was taken by ambulance to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley where he remains from treatment.
