Wishaw hospital's neonatal unit presented with bumper cheque from family of 'little warrior'

Staff within the neonatal unit at Wishaw General were delighted to receive a donation of more than £5000 from the parents of one of their patients.Alfie Sheen was born at 27 weeks last November - weighing only 1lb 6oz, he spent 139 days in the unit.During that time, little Alfie’s lungs collapsed numerous times, he suffered respiratory arrest and had to have seven blood transfusions.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
