Friday - November 12 - has been dubbed 'Crime Night' as statistics reveal this date is when we are most likely to have our houses broken into.According the new research, there are more than 300 reported cases of house break-ins on average across the UK each November 12.
The study - from Churchill Home Insurance - examined home theft cases from the last three years, reports Wales Online.The typical home theft claim costs in excess of £2,700 with an estimated £900,000 worth of valuables stolen from our homes each November 12 alone.The research suggests the spike coincides with the clocks going back as break-ins increase by 34 per cent in darker months.People living in Edinburgh feel 76 per cent more at risk of break-ins during the winter
