Steve McManaman has claimed that he would be 'shocked' if Paul Pogba were to join a Premier League rival when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Manchester Evening News understands that conversations have not yet taken place between Pogba and the club over a new deal but that the Frenchman is enjoying his time under Ralf Rangnick.

The former Liverpool, Man City and Real Madrid midfielder believes that the 28-year-old would not improve United's opponents.

He told horseracing.net: "If Paul Pogba was to make a move to one of Manchester United’s Premier League rivals, I wouldn't be shocked….I would be incredibly shocked. "If it was Manchester City, Chelsea, or Liverpool I would be amazed, far more than shocked.
