AN Airdrie man who brandished a belt “as a weapon” in Coatbridge town centre has been put on a court order.John Finnigan, 20, of Park Street, behaved in a threatening or abusive manner that was likely to cause a reasonable person to suffer fear or alarm.The incident happened on February 20 on Coatbridge Main Street.Airdrie Sheriff Court heard how Finnigan was in possession of a belt, engaged in a fight and repeatedly brandished the belt at people.Finnigan continued to behave in an aggressive manner and was shouting and swearing both in Main Street and at Coatbridge police office.At the time of the offences he was on bail from Airdrie Sheriff Court – an order imposed on him in December 2018.Prosecutor Alice Carey told the court: “At 10.50pm
