UK coronavirus death toll rises by 38 in past 24 hours

coronavirus is continuing to fall, the Department of Health and Social Care announced as it said 38 more people had died in the UK, one of the lowest weekday numbers to be recorded since before lockdown.

It continues a trend of the numbers of people who are dying from the virus falling in the UK, although weekend figures tend to be lower than later in the week.The Department of Health and Social Care said 41,736 people had died in hospitals, care homes and the wider community after testing positive for coronavirus in the UK as of 5pm on Sunday, up by 38 from 41,698 the day before.The government figures do not include all deaths involving Covid-19 across the UK, which is thought to have passed 52,000.The DHSC also said in the 24-hour period.
