U.K. post-punk band Squid share fervent new song “Sludge”

British band Squid have quietly been letting their freak flag fly over the past 18 months, releasing a series of twitchy and explosive songs including "The Cleaner" and "Houseplants." Today, March 24, they return with news of a brand new song and their arrival on iconic electronic label Warp. "Sludge" began its life during a soundcheck before Squid opened for post-punk pioneers Wire in 2019 and the nervous energy of that era of music is present in the jerky time-signatures and Ollie Judge's manic vocals.

Judge, who also plays drums in Squid, ends "Sludge" by repeating the mantra "Scrape my teeth out on the floor, I don't want any more." Its quite an image.
