Two men jailed after MDMA worth £42,000 found inside sofa during Salford raid

Swinton men who were caught with drugs worth more than £40k have been jailed. Andrew Pierce, 57, of Buchannan Street, and Ernie Wilkes, 33, of Leinster Road, were sentenced to more than eight years in prison on Monday (September 28).

Manchester Crown Court heard how officers executed a warrant at Pierce's home address just after 7am on February 19 this year.

Following a search, a bag of white powder was found underneath a mattress. Almost half a kilo of MDMA carrying a street value of £42,000 was also discovered inside a sofa.Police found a total of £27,030 in cash at the address along with drugs debtor's lists, paraphernalia and digital scales.
