Tributes to huge Bolton Wanderers fan who passed away days after watching beloved club get promoted

David Baxter, known affectionately as Stan, was a season ticket holder of 57 years and also regularly watched the club play away.

After first being taken to Burnden Park by his dad Rex in 1964, Stan became a 'well known and loved character' among fans, according to his family.

Last month, just five days after watching his beloved Whites seal promotion back to League One, Stan passed away, aged 64, after a six-year battle with prostate cancer.
