Harry Maguire blamed the wind for contributing to his controversial yellow card at Turf Moor, but said Manchester United couldn't use the conditions as an excuse for their draw with Burnley.
The match was played in heavy rain throughout in East Lancashire and the wind added to the difficulties in the second half, but the United skipper refused to use the conditions as a reason for dropping two points.
United played well in the first 45 minutes and deservedly lead through Paul Pogba's goal. But Jay Rodriguez equalised just after the break and Maguire was then booked for fouling the same player when the home fans wanted him sent off for denying a goalscoring opportunity.
Maguire said the rain had played a part in the mistake that led to that incident, but the conditions weren't the reason why United lost control of the game in the second half. "The wind picked up and rain was straight into our faces in the second half so it was tough to get the flight of the ball," he told MUTV. "For my yellow card we both misjudged it.
