While the elusive artist kept the finer details under wraps, TIDAL put on listening sessions on March 12 in Los Angeles, New York, and New Orleans. This is his first release since his 2007 mixtape Act I: Eternal Sunshine (The Pledge).

On February 7 of this year, the unthinkable happened: Jay Electronica, the beloved and barely heard-from rapper and producer who stunned with his debut mixtape Eternal Sunshine (The Pledge) back in 2007, announced that his debut album A Written Testimony was done and ready for release. The news was taken with a healthy dose of skepticism: Electronica has released a mere six songs since Eternal Sunshine, and only eighteen guest appearances — an average of less than two a year.
