Tesco and Asda confirm rules on buying non-essential items in Scotland's third lockdown

Supermarket shoppers will still be able to pick up non-essential items such as clothing during Scotland's strict lockdown. Tesco and Asda will continue to sell electrical products, TVs and gym gear despite some stores blocking off aisles and upper levels during the previous full lockdown.

Supermarkets across the country received backlash last month after closing access to non-essential aisles selling non-food products, Teeside Live reports.

Tesco confirmed it is following current guidance in Scotland which states that only essential retail will be able to remain open providing they ensure the safety of customers and staff.
