suicide has opened up about his secret battle in a bid to help others and 'shake the stigma' around mental health challenges.Brian Smith had chosen the location where he wanted to 'end his life' not long after Scotland first went into lockdown in the spring of 2020.At breaking point, the 40-year-old thankfully didn't go through with it and reached out to the Samaritans and a local mental health charity.

Knowing he needed more help, Brian, from Clydebank, West Dunbartonshre, admits he still has a way to go, but hasn't looked back.This week the dad-of-three uploaded a video on social media, exposing mental health struggles he's hidden from loved ones for 'years and years'.The emotional clip sees Brian recall his lowest moments and urges.
