A terminally ill Scots OAP was left without a washing machine and tumble dryer after signing up to a Scottish Government -funded scheme.
Mum-of-two Margaret Phillips, 72, from Edinburgh signed up for the Warmer Homes Scotland scheme in early September, to have a new heating system installed.
However the work from the contractor and managing agent Warmworks left without her washer and tumble dryer, after the machines were disconnected during the installation, reports Edinburgh Live.
Margaret said there was no space to reconnect them after the works, and she was unable to clean any clothes or bedding as she couldn't afford the reinstallation of the machines, which is estimated to cost around £2,500.A Scottish Government spokesperson said they would investigate the matter, and acknowledged the "distress" caused to Margaret.Warmworks has confirmed the new heating system will be installed free of charge but the scheme does not cover the cost of moving other kitchen appliances.
