direct to your inboxA community group that has proven to be a lifeline to people in Manchester is now hoping to put together a 24-hour live stream to celebrate the nation’s frontline workers.Throughout lockdown, the 0161 Community group have been delivering food parcels, Christmas presents and essentials to people in need across Greater Manchester.The group aims to help ‘promote a strong unified, working class identity’ and for Jacob, who has volunteered at the service for two years now, the response to the pandemic has only solidified that. “We’ve been doing this long before the pandemic but we’ve noticed how much there was a need to help people,” Jacob, who lives in Moss Side, tells the Manchester Evening News .
