Stone snake art project is a hit with Ayrshire community

An Irvine youngster is bringing the community together during lockdown with a stone snake art project.Isla Duffy, 10, has been painting rocks during lockdown to keep the boredom at bay and initially placed three stones at the Tarryholme river walk.Her artistic efforts have encouraged the community to contribute to the project and now the stone snake is made up of more than 300 painted rocks.The primary seven pupil said: “It makes me happy that other children are able to take part and add more stones.

It’s really nice to see the river walk bright and colourful.”Isla’s mum Cheryl is so proud of her thoughtful and talented daughter.She said: “Isla loves to paint for her Guides camp and she kept painting rocks during lockdown.
