The BeeU Festival, which was to be headlined by 90s pop band Steps, has been cancelled. Organisers of the event, due to happen in Platt Fields on June 18, let ticket holders know this weekend.
The show was planned for the band, Claire, H , Faye, Lee and Lisa, to celebrate 25 years in the pop business. “We are deeply disappointed to have to announce that BeeUFest will not be going ahead this summer,” organisers said. “We have worked hard over the last few months to bring an exciting and vibrant new event to the centre of Manchester however, sadly, we have been unable to manage this. “We appreciate this will be hugely disappointing for our ticket holders, many of whom supported the event from the very beginning.” The UK’s most successful mixed-sex pop group of all time, they’re best known for hits like Tragedy, Better Best Forgotten, and Stomp.
Ticket holders are being offered either a refund, or replacement tickets to the Queen’s Jubilee weekend party that’s happening on Sackville Gardens in the Village.
Those with tickets to the Steps show can trade them for three weekend tickets, which will cover Fit For A Queen on June 4 and HolyT In The Park on June 5.
