South Lanarkshire Council creating green jobs as part of £2m Climate Challenge Fund

Apple - Android Councillors on the climate change and sustainability committee agreed to move forward with plans for the fund last Wednesday.Six areas for investment have been identified and, once details have been finalised, funding bids for projects which would support the natural environment, the built environment, travel and transport, waste and recycling, communities and the economy will be accepted.The new jobs will see new development officers employed to support sustainable development and funding as well as the green economy.A project support assistant for sustainable development is also set to be jointly-funded by Glasgow Caledonian University's Centre for Climate Justice and would see a PhD student brought in to look at climate.
