'Significant' emergency services response after two people injured near Dovestone Reservoir

Emergency services were called to Dovestone Reservoir in Saddleworth this afternoon after reports of 'two injured people in need of rescue'.

Firefighters, police, ambulance and the mountain rescue team were called to the area just after midday today (Sunday, January 23). "Firefighters, police, ambulance, and the mountain rescue team responded to reports of two injured people in need of rescue. "Following a joint assessment of the incident by the agencies responding it has been scaled down, so firefighters have now begun to leave the area. "The incident remains in the hands of the mountain rescue team and North West Ambulance Service.

It is not known yet the seriousness of the injuries. The Oldham Mountain Rescue Team has said that it will provide a statement at a later date.
