People have continued to see petrol prices and energy bills at home rise while energy companies enjoyed record breaking figures in the black.

BP announced yesterday that over the three months until June it had recorded £6.9 billion in profit, three times the amount it made in the same period last year.
This comes after Shell announced a three month profit of almost £10 billion, with Centrica also announcing a five fold increase in its profits.
